Boss Alumni organize another online meeting, this time about an interesting and touching story of two Alumni who are managers and parents.

We are used to the dichotomy between for-profit and not-for-profit, and the motivation, as the skills, for the former largely differ from the goals of the latter.

But what if you can extend your “for profit” skills to contribute to something bigger?  What happens when you apply your managerial skills to the non-profit?

Our speakers were faced with the shocking news that their 3-year old daughter Vicky was slowly losing her sight due to a rare genetic condition. The worst day of their lives, as they call it.

They decided to dedicate time, extend their skills, leverage their network to build a global effort, Through Vicky’s Eyes, raising awareness and supporting research to help Vicky and kids like her see the world for longer. In less than 3 years, they have set the basis for advancing scientific research for Vicky’s condition and brought together patients, researchers, families and supporters from all the world. Proving the difference that managerial skills can make to any environment.

SPEAKERS:
Silvia Cerolini, (CLEACC 2004, Marketing 2006) is a Senior Marketing Manager at Procter & Gamble.
Enrico Orlandi (CLEACC 2004) is a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs.
Both Bocconi Alumni, they currently live in London.
