Abstract
The digitalisation of capital markets opens the door to important potential benefits to capital market participants in the coming years, including a simplification of the intermediation and an easier access to markets, a reduction of costs, as well as lighter and faster operational processes. On 27 April 2021, the EIB launched a digital bond issuance on a blockchain platform, deploying this distributed ledger technology for the registration and settlement of digital bonds. The keynote speaker will present the main features of this transaction.
